The 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas or Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Day was celebrated on January 9, 2023, marking the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa in 1915. The three-day celebration took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Bankrolled by the Ministry of External Affairs, the 2023 theme was "Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India's Progress in Amrit Kaal".
