43 new implementing partners empanelled under SAMARTH Scheme

The Textile Ministry has enlisted 43 additional implementing partners under the SAMARTH schemes. These partnerships aim to offer further training to 75,000 beneficiaries while support for existing implementing partners will increase by 5%. The scheme is an attempt to enhance the skill development of the workforce in the textile industry by providing financial aid to partnered industries. The ministry is currently allied with 157 Textile Industries/Industry Associations, 16 Central/State Government Agencies, and 3 Sectoral Organization. Its primary goal is to promote skill development and increase employment opportunities within the sector.

Important Points to remember:

  1. SAMARTH Scheme, otherwise known as the Scheme for Capacity Building in the Textile Sector (SCBTS), is a demand-driven, placement-oriented initiative formulated under the broad skilling policy framework.
  2. This scheme was launched by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs under the Ministry of Textile in 2017, targeting the Organized and Traditional Sector.
  3. It enhances the skill development of master trainers and ensures the credibility of trainers and beneficiaries through Aadhar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS).
  4. Implementing Online monitoring of training processes, a dedicated call center with a helpline number, and Management Information System (MIS) via mobile-based apps, the scheme ensures smoother operations. The SAMARTH Scheme aims to provide National Skills Framework Qualification compliant skilling programmes to over 10 lakh people while promoting self-employment.
