5th Khelo India Youth Games 2022

The 5th Khelo India Youth Games 2022 concluded on February 11, with Maharashtra topping the medal tally with a total of 161 medals comprising 56 gold, 55 silver, and 50 bronze. Haryana finished second with 128 medals, while host Madhya Pradesh was the third overall winner with 96 medals. Organized in eight cities of Madhya Pradesh, this edition saw the introduction of water sports - Kayaking, Canoeing, Canoe Salam, and Fencing - for the first time. Over 5000 athletes from across 36 states and union territories of India participated in the games and competed for 973 medals across 27 sports. Notably, the games witnessed a 40 percent girl participants.
