AI Supercomputer ‘AIRAWAT’ puts India among top supercomputing league

The AI Supercomputer 'AIRAWAT', stationed at C-DAC, Pune, has earned a noteworthy 75th position on the Top 500 Global Supercomputing List, which was announced at the International Supercomputing Conference, ISC 2023, in Germany. This ranking has given a massive lift to India's status in AI supercomputing, facilitated by the Government of India's National Program on AI. Combining 'AIRAWAT's proof of concept (PoC) 200 AI Petaflops with 'PARAM Siddhi - AI's' 210 AI Petaflops provides a total peak compute of 410 AI Petaflops Mixed Precision. This achievement showcases the immense potential of AI in India's digital ecosystem, built on substantial data availability, a robust digital economy, and a skilled workforce. Areas of focus in applied AI include natural language processing, image processing, pattern recognition, agriculture, medical imaging, education, healthcare, audio assistance, and robotics.
