‘Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Yojana'

On July 8, Gujarat's Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan launched an initiative named 'Antyodaya Shramik Suraksha Scheme'. It is an accident insurance scheme initiated on a pilot basis to provide financial assistance to laborers and their families in case of an accident at the workplace. Through this, Gujarat became the first Indian state to launch such a welfare scheme for laborers. The scheme is implemented through the Indian Postal Department, Indian Post Payment Banks, and the Ministry of Labor and Employment, with the aim to provide financial security to laborers and remember their contributions to India's development.
