BHU-VISION

Bhu-Vision, otherwise known as KRISHI-RASTAA Soil Testing System, is a groundbreaking IoT-based automated soil testing and agronomy advisory platform that was recently launched in India to revolutionize the country's agriculture sector. By providing soil health data and offering agronomy advice to farmers, it could aid in hitting soil health targets and supporting agricultural development. Despite this, challenges need to be solved and a holistic, collaborative strategy must be implemented. ICAR-IIRR and KrishiTantra are the collaborative developers of this system. Bhu-Vision is a portable device that can test 12 soil parameters swiftly using IoT connectivity. It also creates a soil health card available via a mobile app or a web portal, which offers custom fertilizer and crop management advice. This system is recognized for its importance in enabling independent soil testing, assisting in proper use of fertilizers, enhancing crop production and soil health, and supporting agriculture research and development. It further contributes to national food security and reduces environmental impact.
