Chachin Grazing Festival celebrated in Arunachal Pradesh
The Chachin Grazing Festival was celebrated in the Tawang region near Bumla Pass, Arunachal Pradesh, on July 14-15. Around 100 local graziers attended the festival along with their nearly 400 yaks. The festival also featured a medical camp to aid the local graziers and a veterinary camp to provide medical support to yaks, which included a lecture on animal health. Traditional grazing areas like Chachin are integral to the local Monpa lifestyle, which is heavily dependent on nomadic herding for farming.
