Chief Minister of Nagaland

Neiphiu Rio, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leader, took the oath as the Chief Minister of Nagaland for the fifth term, administered by Governor La Ganesan. Taditui Rangkau Zeliang and Yanthungo Patton, the Deputy Chief Ministers, along with other Rio cabinet members, were present during the oath-taking ceremony in Kohima, along with other prominent political leaders. The NDPP-BJP alliance gained 37 seats in the recently concluded Nagaland elections. Majority of the other 23 MLAs have endorsed the alliance government. Nagaland has 37 active MLAs from the NDPP-BJP alliance, with 12 in cabinet positions.
