“Dharma Guardian” 2023

The 4th edition of the joint training exercise named "Ex Dharma Guardian" between the Indian Army and the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force commenced at Camp Imazu in Shiga Province, Japan from February 17 to March 2, 2023. The troops of the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of the Indian Army and an infantry regiment from the Middle Army of the Japanese Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF) are participating. This exercise aims to enhance bilateral ties and defence cooperation by sharing experiences gained during operations for better planning and execution. The focus is on sharing tactics, techniques, procedures, and developing interoperability under a UN mandate, also enhancing physical fitness and situational awareness.
