Dharmendra Pradhan Launched India Skills 2023-24 In New Delhi

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship launched IndiaSkills 2023-24 and celebrated the achievements of WorldSkill 2022 winners. With India securing the 11th position in WorldSkills 2022, the ambitious goals for skill development were announced by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, emphasizing skill acquisition. He underscored the importance of competencies over traditional degrees and outlined plans to increase the number of participants from 0.25 to 2.5 million. Pradhan stressed the need for mapping skill gaps to create a workforce with developed skills required in the job market, creating job readiness. WorldSkills, with 86 member countries, serves a global benchmark for high-performance vocational skills. India's participation in 50 skills in WorldSkills 2022 resulted in securing the 11th best position for the nation.
