Emmanuel Macron Names Elisabeth Borne as France's New Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be a Guest of Honour at the Bastille Day Parade in Paris on July 14. This is the second time an Indian PM has been invited, with the first being former PM Manmohan Singh in 2009. The Indian armed forces will also participate in the parade. This invite is significant as 2021 marks the 25th anniversary of India and France's strategic partnership which started in 1998. France’s ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, expressed eagerness for a long-term association. This invitation is even more unique due to the fact that it's uncommon for Heads of State to be invited to the Bastille Day celebration
