Gujarat launches ‘Sinh Suchna’ app for tracking lions

On the occasion of World Lion Day, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the 'Sinh Suchna' mobile application. This app enables the forest department and the public to monitor lion movements effectively. Initiated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, this endeavour for real-time tracking and conflict resolution also fosters public involvement in wildlife conservation. A new lion safari park is on the cards as well, aimed at reducing the burden on Gir National Park. The event also included the unveiling of a Lion Anthem and launch of two books on Gujarat's biodiversity. Prime Minister Modi expressed his appreciation for the initiative on World Lion Day. With a 674 lion population spread over 30,000 square kilometers, Gujarat has gained significant tourist attention. The CM emphasized the Indian government's commitment to lion preservation through 'Project Lion,' a Rs 2,900 crore undertaking.
