Japan as having the most powerful passport, allowing visa-free entry to 193 global destinations - a position Japan has maintained for five consecutive years. In joint second position are Singapore and South Korea, followed by Germany and Spain, among other European countries. India's passport is ranked 85th with visa-free access to 59 destinations. This ranking, changed from 82nd in 2019, 84th in 2020, 85th in 2021, and 83rd in 2022 respectively. Some neighboring countries to India such as China rank 66th, Sri Lanka 100th, Bangladesh 101st, Nepal 103rd, and Pakistan 106th. The bottom 10 countries include Laos, Nepal, North Korea, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The Index is published by London-based immigration consulting firm, Henley & Partners and uses data from the International Air Transport Association.
