JAPAN INDIA MARITIME EXERCISE 2023 (JIMEX 23)

The seventh edition of the Japan-India Maritime Exercise 2023 (JIMEX 23) will be conducted from 5th to 10th July 2023 in Visakhapatnam, India. JIMEX has been an annual event since its inception in 2012, aiming to strengthen cooperation between the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) and the Indian Navy. The exercise comprises two phases: the Harbour phase, emphasizing interaction and sharing practices, and the Sea phase, focusing on refining tactical skills in various maritime domains. Several fleets from both nations will participate in the exercise. Additionally, JIMEX 23 symbolizes the commitment of both nations to ensuring security in the Indo-Pacific region.
