- The Prime Minister of Jamaica recently paid a state visit to India, marking the first such visit in bilateral history.
- The significant highlight of this visit was to strengthen and reinforce bilateral ties with India on a range of key areas including trade and investment.
Key Meeting Outcomes
- Both Jamaica's Prime Minister and the Indian President agreed upon strengthening alliances and partnerships at various levels, from parliamentary and academic levels to cultural exchanges and international forums cooperation.
- There was particular emphasis on Jamaica's valuable participation in all three editions of the Voice of the Global South Summits. India and Jamaica's mutual commitment to reforming multilateral institutions was also discussed, particularly the United Nations Security Council, through groups like the L-69.
Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
- Multiple MoUs were signed during this visit, reinforcing collaboration in several key areas:
- These covered sharing successful digital public infrastructure, promoting a Cultural Exchange Programme, and solidifying cooperation in the sporting arena.

Voice of the Global South Summit (VOGSS)

- This Summit mirrors India’s philosophy of “One Earth, One Family, One Future” and the Prime Minister’s vision of inclusive growth for all - "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.”
