Ministry of Tourism Selected Four Pilgrim Centres Under PRASHAD Scheme

The Ministry of Tourism, through its initiatives, 'Swadesh Darshan' scheme and 'PRASHAD', has pinpointed four pilgrimage sites for development. This action involves granting financial assistance for improving tourism infrastructure across the country. In its revised Swadesh Darshan 2.0 initiative, the ministry has targeted 'Hampi' and 'Mysuru' as prime destinations for advancement. The newly identified pilgrimage spots in Karnataka include Maa Chamundeshwari Devi Temple, Sri Madhwa Vana, Papnash Temple, and Sri Renuka Yallamma Temple. The PRASHAD scheme, introduced by India's Government in 2014-2015 under the Ministry of Tourism, focuses on identifying and improving pilgrimage locations in the country to enhance the religious tourism experience. It aims to merge pilgrimage destinations strategically, sustainably, and systematically for a comprehensive travel experience.
