PM Modi Inaugurated 37th Edition Of National Games

The inauguration of the 37th National Games in Panaji, Goa, witnessed Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing the enthusiastic crowd gathered at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. This year marks a historic debut for Goa as it hosts these games for the very first time. Over 10,000 athletes from across the nation are participating in the event, which commenced on October 26 and will continue till November 9. During his address, PM Modi shed light on the various transformations in the Indian sports ecosystem under his administration, including a three-fold increase in the sports budget compared to nine years ago. The PM also highlighted several government initiatives to nurture potential talent and promote sports, such as the Khelo India program and the Target, Olympic, Podium Scheme (TOPS). He further expressed his desire for India to host the Youth Olympics in 2030 and the Olympics in 2036.
