The Pulitzer Prizes 2023 were recently announced, with four of the journalism awards across 15 categories awarded to local media organizations for their reportage on corruption among local officials. The award is considered the highest honor a US-based journalist or organization can receive. The awards were announced by Pulitzer Prizes administrator Marjorie Miller. A total of 22 Pulitzer categories are awarded out of which, in 21 categories, winners receive a $15,000 cash award and a certificate. Edgar Hoover and the Making of the American Century” in Biography, and "His Name Is George Floyd: One Man’s Life and the Struggle for Racial Justice" in General Nonfiction.
