Republic Day 2023: Uttarakhand tableau wins first prize

India celebrated its 74th Republic Day on January 26th, 2023, marking the day when the Constitution of India was adopted in 1950. The day was acknowledged with great enthusiasm and included activities such as parades, cultural programs, rallies, military parades, among others. Some firsts for this day included replacing British-made 25-Pounder guns with 105 mm Indian Field Guns, participation of women in various contingents, display of tableau by Narcotics Control Bureau, and inclusion of Agniveers and Garud Special Forces of the Indian Air Force. The Uttarakhand tableau showcasing the state’s wildlife and religious sites won first prize, with Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh coming second and third respectively.
