Shivraj Singh Chouhan launches ‘Laadli Behna’ scheme in Madhya Pradesh

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, announced the 'Laadli Behna' scheme. The initiative aims to offer financial aid of 1,000 rupees per month to qualifying women, targeting one crore women in the state. The Union Budget 2023 has allocated 8,000 crores for the scheme. Women between the ages of 23 and 60 who own less than 5 acres of land or earn less than 2.5 lakhs annually qualify for the scheme. The government started accepting applications for the programme starting March 5, with a deadline set for April 30, and beneficiaries are set to start receiving funds on June 10.
