Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan-2023

The Indian city of Indore, Madhya Pradesh has been ranked first in the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan-2023 by the Central Pollution Control Board for its impressive efforts towards environmental conservation. This survey focused on cities having a population of more than 10 lakhs. Interestingly, Madhya Pradesh's cities dominated the top spots with Indore at first and Bhopal at the fifth position. The cities were assessed based on how they managed challenges like solid waste, road dust, construction waste, vehicular emissions, and industrial pollution. Indore scored an exceptional 187 out of 200, demonstrating its comprehensive approach towards environmental preservation. All these factors have resulted in maintaining cleaner air quality and promoting sustainable urban development in the area.
