Telangana Government Launched 'Aasara' Pension For Poor
The Telangana government has initiated a new insurance scheme for toddy tappers named ‘Geetha Karmikula Bhima’, mirroring the ‘Rythu Bhima’ program's concept for farmers. The scheme entails financial assistance to the families of toddy tappers who lose their lives while on duty. Under this policy, an amount of Rs. five lakh will be deposited directly to the bank account of the family of a deceased toddy tapper within one week of the accident. Due to the hazardous nature of toddy tapping and several deadly accidents that have occurred in the past, this scheme was introduced to provide fast financial aid following their loss.
