The 8th National Photography Awards

The 8th National Photography Awards was presented by Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan at an awards ceremony held in New Delhi. In total, there were 13 awards dispensed that included 6 each in Professional and Amateur categories. The themes for these categories were "Life and Water" and "Cultural Heritage of India" respectively. Among the notable recipients of the awards were Ms. Sipra Das for the Lifetime Achievement Award, Shri Sasi Kumar Ramachandran for the Professional Photographer of the Year, and Shri Arun Saha for the Amateur Photographer of the Year. Special mentions were also given in both categories. The awards also included cash prizes.
